The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Illini Dash
Illini Dash puts every UIUC deadline in one place.
Canvas, Gradescope, PrairieLearn, PrairieTest and smartPhysics each hold part of your semester, and none of them shows you the others. Checking five sites to find out what is due this week is how a deadline gets missed — not because it was hidden, but because it was somewhere you didn't look that day.
Illini Dash reads all of them and puts what it finds on one calendar, in your browser, using the logins you already have. Click the icon and you can see the week.
WHAT IT DOES
• Day, week and month views, plus a list of just the things that need attention. Your courses are colour-coded, and any course can be switched off with one click.
• One entry per assignment. Work posted in Gradescope and mirrored into Canvas shows up once, linked to the place you actually submit it — not twice, from two sites that disagree about the title.
• Exams in their own place, with the room and how long each one runs, including the ones further out than the calendar reaches.
• CBTF exams you have reserved, and a daily reminder about exams that are open for booking and not yet reserved — the deadline that has no deadline on it.
• Reminders 24 hours and 2 hours before something is due, with quiet hours so nothing wakes you at 3am.
• Reduced-credit deadlines. PrairieLearn's "80% until Tuesday" is a real deadline, and it is shown as one.
• Your own course websites. Plenty of courses keep the real schedule on their own page. Paste the address, see exactly what was found, and add it once it looks right.
• Deadlines announced in a post. If you use Piazza or Campuswire, Illini Dash can offer the dates instructors state there as suggestions you accept or ignore. Both are off until you switch them on.
• Google Calendar sync. Save everything as an .ics file from the toolbar. Or connect Google Calendar, and your deadlines are kept in step in a calendar Illini Dash creates in your own account, it can see no other calendar in it, and disconnecting deletes the one it made.
NO ACCOUNT, NO PASSWORD, NO SERVER
Illini Dash reads the pages you are already signed in to, the same way your browser would if you opened them yourself, and keeps everything on your own device. It never sees a password. There is no server, no account and no analytics, and nothing you do is reported to anyone. Uninstalling it deletes everything it stored.
Nothing leaves your browser except in one case, and you start it: if you connect Google Calendar, your own deadlines go to your own Google account and nowhere else. They are never sent to us, because there is no us to send them to.
