The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Homebase
Homebase replaces your new tab with something quieter and genuinely yours.
A big clock in the font and size you want. Your links on one side, your tasks on
the other — or wherever you drag them. A fresh photo behind it all. Nothing you
didn't ask for.
WIDGETS, WHERE YOU WANT THEM
Links, weather, tasks, a timer, notes and countdowns. Each one goes in any of the
four corners — drag it by its heading — and several can share a corner, stacked
in whatever order you drop them. Switch off the ones you don't want and they're
gone. Every widget's own settings live behind its toggle, so the panel only shows
you what you're actually using.
THE CLOCK, YOUR WAY
Seventeen typefaces, plus a box to type any font you have installed. Size,
weight, letter spacing and colour are all sliders. 12- or 24-hour, seconds and
date optional.
TASKS THAT STAY OUT OF THE WAY
As many lists as you like. Due dates with optional times, eight colours, drag to
reorder or to move a task between lists. Completed tasks can hide themselves and
clear out automatically after a window you choose, so storage never creeps.
SEARCH THAT LOOKS INWARD
Start typing and Homebase offers your own tasks, links and recent searches —
all from your own device, with nothing sent to a suggestion service. Tick a task
off right from the results, or click through to it. Pressing Enter searches with
whatever engine your browser is already set to; Homebase never changes it.
WALLPAPERS
A new photo daily, or hourly, or every tab — or pin the one you like and keep it.
Choose categories — Nature, Architecture, Space, Mountains, Textures and more —
and every photo comes from one of them, drawn from Openverse's library of openly
licensed work. No account, no API key. Or use your own image, a URL, a gradient,
a solid colour. Dim, blur and a soft shade behind the widgets keep text readable
over anything.
A TIMER THAT MEANS IT
Pomodoro or a plain stopwatch, set to any number of minutes you like, with a ring
that fills as the session runs and a chime when it flips.
FOCUS MODE
One click clears everything from the edges. One click brings it back.
YOUR DATA IS YOURS
No account, no server, no analytics, no tracking. Homebase never asks for your
location permission and never reads the pages you visit. Settings, tasks and
notes live on your machine and nowhere else. Export the lot to a file whenever
you want.
