The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About HELM Canvas
HELM Canvas connects your approved Canvas site to the HELM Windows app, bringing courses, assignments, deadlines and announcements into one academic dashboard.
Open your school's Canvas site, open HELM Canvas, and choose Agree & connect Canvas. Chrome asks for access to that specific site. The extension reads accessible coursework and study context, including syllabus information, grade inputs, instructor feedback and other supported student records. HELM never submits coursework or changes Canvas records.
The extension refreshes permitted Canvas information while Chrome is running. Updates may be delayed when your browser or computer sleeps, your sign-in expires, or Canvas denies access. Progress and connection status distinguish acquisition from confirmed delivery to HELM.
Approved Canvas context and sync checkpoints are stored locally in your browser. The extension transfers approved context to HELM on the same Windows computer through Chrome Native Messaging. HELM can also request accessible Canvas files through your approved browser session. The academic dashboard is in the HELM Windows app.
When you prepare files for search or ask a question, relevant context may be sent through HELM's service to its configured AI providers, as described in HELM's Privacy Policy. The extension itself does not call an AI service. It does not extract your passwords, cookies or authentication tokens, crawl external learning tools, or sell browsing information.
Remove Canvas site access in Chrome's extension settings to stop future updates. Manage retained coursework in HELM. Browser-local and Desktop copies have separate storage boundaries.
Requires Chrome 120 or later and a compatible HELM Windows app. Hosted answers require eligible HELM account access. HELM Consumer is for US residents aged 18 and older. HELM is independent of Instructure and is not an official Canvas product.
