About Helix eCW Companion

Helix eCW Companion is for clinicians and billing staff at practices that use HC Intellect ClaimSuite together with the browser edition of eClinicalWorks (eCW). It opens your ClaimSuite Helix workspace in Chrome's side panel so it sits beside the chart you are working in, instead of on a second screen or in another tab. What it does - Follows the chart. When you open a patient in eCW, the panel reads the patient and visit identifiers from the open chart and shows that patient's ClaimSuite workspace: notes, claims, eligibility, and the Helix assistant. Move to another chart and the panel follows. - Reads the open note for the assistant. While a visit note is open, the panel makes its text available to the Helix assistant so answers reflect what is documented today. Locked (signed) notes are recognised and treated as read-only. - Push to Scribe-It. From a prepared note in ClaimSuite, place the text into the open Progress Note's Scribe-It box in eCW. The extension checks that the chart on screen is the same patient and visit before writing, refuses if the note is locked, and never clicks Import or Save. You review and import in eCW yourself. - Open a note or claim from ClaimSuite. From a ClaimSuite page you can open the matching Progress Note or claim in your signed-in eCW tab. - Works without a chart. With no chart open, the panel shows today's appointments, your claims, provider clarifications, and the assistant for your organisation. What it needs - A ClaimSuite account. The panel is ClaimSuite itself, loaded inside the side panel, and you sign in there. Nothing works without an account, and the extension does nothing on sites other than eClinicalWorks and ClaimSuite. - Browser-based eClinicalWorks on an ecwcloud.com or eclinicalworks.com address. eCW delivered through Citrix or Remote Desktop has no web page for the extension to read, so it is not supported. What it does not do - It never submits, signs, or saves anything in eCW. Every write is placed in a text box for you to review and import. - It sends nothing to HC Intellect on its own. The extension makes no network requests. Information from the open chart is handed to the ClaimSuite application running inside the panel, under your practice's existing agreement with HC Intellect. - It does not track your browsing. It only looks at eClinicalWorks tabs, and only to know which chart is open. Set-up Install, open your eCW tab, and click the Helix icon in the toolbar. Sign in to ClaimSuite inside the panel. The extension recognises your organisation from the eCW address; practice IT can also pre-set the configuration by policy.
