The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Guidelane Companion
Processes anyone can follow.
With Guidelane Companion, you can turn any workflow into a step-by-step visual guide. Record a workflow and share it with people in your workspace, or with anyone as a public guide. Whether you're onboarding new team members, documenting a process, or writing a support article, you can capture and share knowledge right where the work happens.
β‘ Quick Access
Instead of opening guides from a bookmark, a pinned tab or a saved link, open the guide you're looking for right from the extension.
π¦ Capture
Open the extension, start recording, and go about your workflow as you normally do. The extension captures your clicks, scrolling, typing and page changes as steps, each with a screenshot. When you're done, review the steps, publish them, and open the guide in Guidelane.
πΊοΈ Journeys
Journeys are live, interactive walkthroughs of your recorded workflows. A Journey takes you through the workflow step by step on the live website where it was recorded. It highlights each step and explains in a short pop-up what the step does and what you need to do. By the end, you have done the task yourself and learned it by doing it.
Journeys have two modes: Guided and Autopilot.
* In Guided mode you're in the driver's seat. The Journey shows you where and how to do each step, and you do the work.
* In Autopilot mode the Journey goes through the workflow on its own. When it needs a decision from you, such as confirming a payment or typing something, it pauses and asks. You decide how much it may do on its own.
π Automations
An Automation supplies the values a Journey would otherwise stop and ask you for, such as your own details, dates or a choice from a drop-down list, so the Journey can run from start to finish on its own. Create one in the Automations panel of any guide recorded with Guidelane Companion, and run it the same way you run a Journey. Use one when you want a hands-free run with your own data. Included in the Business plan.
π Resilient targeting
Websites get updated and redesigned. The extension finds the right button or field again from several clues, such as its label, its place in the page and its position, and keeps what worked so later runs find it faster.
ποΈ Several workspaces
Belong to more than one Guidelane workspace? Switch between them from the extension without reconnecting. All your guides are one click away.
π Your information stays protected
By default, passwords, one-time codes, card numbers, bank accounts, phone numbers, email addresses, street addresses, API keys and tokens are blurred in every screenshot before anything is uploaded.
Turn on "Data Masking" and each blurred email address, phone number, card, bank account and street address also gets replaced by an obviously made-up value, so your screenshots still read naturally. What you type is never saved as text. That is why a Journey stops and asks you to fill in those fields yourself, unless an Automation supplies the values.
π Optional descriptions, written on your computer
Chrome's built-in AI can write a short description for each step on your own device. Nothing is sent to a server. It is off by default, and you can turn it on in Settings.
π Getting started
You'll need a Guidelane account and access to a workspace. Open Guidelane, pick your workspace, and connect Guidelane Companion. You should be linked in under a minute. Then start a recording, or open a guide you already have and run it. We recommend pinning the extension so it's easy to find.
Happy recording!
