Make ChatGPT look the way you like. Click the toolbar icon to open the side panel — every change appears on the page instantly. ■ Colors 64 color schemes in 8 moods. Pick just a background, text and accent color and the rest is derived to match, or set all 11 colors yourself. You can also keep the colors from ChatGPT's own theme setting and add only the styling below. ■ Backgrounds Put 8 generated graphics (drawn in your theme colors), 7 patterns, or your own image (file, drag and drop, paste or URL) behind the chat. Adjust image position, zoom, dimming and blur, and let the background drift slowly if you like. Add floating particles such as snow or stars, darken the edges, or give text a soft outline so it stays readable. ■ Shapes Style your message bubbles, the input box, a card behind answers, code blocks, document cards and menus with corner radius, borders, shadows and translucent glass. Headings, quotes, tables, links and code can follow your accent color, and the personal assistant (dot) screen has its own bubble settings. New messages can fade or slide in, light can circle the input box, and a sparkle trail can follow your cursor. ■ Fonts and reading Choose body and code fonts from web fonts that need no install or from fonts on your computer, and set text size, line height and chat width. ■ Navigation Jump to any of your questions in a long chat, with top / previous / next / bottom buttons and shortcuts (Alt+↑/↓). ■ Managing themes Save your own themes and share them as files. Use a different theme per project, switch themes automatically between day and night, or pick separate themes for dark and light mode. ■ Where it works Every feature works when you are signed in to ChatGPT. On the signed-out ChatGPT page, colors, backgrounds, message bubbles, the input box, answer text, fonts and effects apply; code block, document card, sidebar and menu styling, chat width and the question list need a signed-in page.
