About Gmail Unsubscribe - bulk email unsubscription
Drowning in newsletters, promotions and marketing emails that keep coming back no matter how often you delete them?
Gmail Unsubscribe finds every mailing list in your inbox and unsubscribes you from the ones you pick, all at once. In the same step it archives or trashes everything those senders already sent you.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Open Gmail. Gmail Unsubscribe sits in the left column, above your labels, with the number of subscriptions in your inbox.
2. Click Clean up inbox, or the Unsubscribe button in Gmail's toolbar. You see every sender with how many emails they sent you, the noisiest ones already ticked.
3. Untick anything you want to keep, and choose Archive (still searchable) or Trash (gone after 30 days).
4. Click once. We unsubscribe you from all of them and clear out their old mail.
Your first cleanup usually takes under two minutes, even on an inbox with years of buildup.
WHY UNSUBSCRIBES FROM THIS EXTENSION ACTUALLY STICK
Most cleanup tools only hide unwanted mail. They filter it into a folder or archive it, and the senders keep sending. Gmail Unsubscribe uses each sender's own unsubscribe mechanism:
- One-click unsubscribe, the standard reputable senders are required to honor
- Unsubscribe by email, sent from your own Gmail address, for senders that ask for it
- The sender's unsubscribe link as a fallback
You see what happened to every sender. When a sender offers no way to unsubscribe, or refuses, we clear out its mail, and once you allow Gmail filters, a filter keeps its new mail out of your inbox. With GU Pro we also watch for senders that keep emailing after you unsubscribed, and clear their mail as it arrives.
YOUR DASHBOARD
Everything is also on your dashboard at gmailunsubscribe.com/dashboard:
- An overview of what has been cleared, and which senders actually stopped emailing you
- Every subscription in your inbox, sortable by volume and by how often you open it
- Your full unsubscribe history, with Undo to put a cleanup's mail back
- Auto-clean rules, new senders to review, and labels written for your inbox (GU Pro)
WHAT ABOUT GMAIL'S BUILT-IN "MANAGE SUBSCRIPTIONS"?
Gmail's own subscription manager is a good start, and for light cleanup it may be all you need. Here is where the extension goes further:
- Gmail mostly shows frequent, recent senders. We list every sender the scan finds, including the newsletter you haven't opened in months.
- Gmail handles one sender at a time. We handle your whole selection in one click.
- Gmail leaves the old emails behind. We archive or trash what those senders already sent, in the same step.
PRIVACY, PLAINLY
Your email is yours. We don't store your messages, and we don't sell or share your data. Unsubscribe requests that have to be emailed are sent from your own account, as if you'd done it by hand. Nothing changes in your inbox until you choose. Details: https://gmailunsubscribe.com/privacy
FREE AND GU PRO
Free: unlimited scans, and 25 senders a month, unsubscribed and cleared out. Each sender counts once a month, and the count resets on the 1st.
GU Pro: unlimited senders, auto-clean rules, labels, the assistant, and the watch on senders that keep emailing. $35.88 a year.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Why do emails keep coming even after I unsubscribe?
Some tools only archive or filter mail instead of unsubscribing, and some senders run several separate lists. We use each sender's own unsubscribe mechanism and show you the result for every sender. Senders can take a few days to honor a request. If one keeps going, a Gmail filter keeps its mail out of your inbox.
Can I clear out a sender that has no unsubscribe link?
Yes. Every sender the scan finds is listed, not only mailing lists. Pick it, and we archive or trash its mail and keep anything new out of your inbox with a Gmail filter.
Will this touch emails from real people?
Only if you pick them. Senders that look like people, or look important (banks, deliveries), are never ticked for you.
What happens when I reach the free limit?
Scanning stays free and unlimited. Your 25 senders reset on the 1st of the month, or GU Pro removes the limit.
I cleaned up a sender by mistake. Can I undo it?
Yes. Unsubscribe history on your dashboard has Undo for every cleanup, which puts its mail back in your inbox. Trashed mail also stays in Gmail's Trash for 30 days. To receive a sender's emails again, resubscribe on its site.
