About German Translator & Flashcards - Lesewelle
Lesewelle is a German translator and reading companion that actually understands how German works. Select any text on a webpage to get an instant translation to selected language. Separable-prefix verbs reunited with their stems (fängt … an → anfangen), reflexive constructions grouped correctly (sich erinnern). Click any word for definitions, save vocabulary, and drill it later with flashcards.
Stop switching between browser tabs, dictionaries, and translation apps. Read German news, articles, blogs, social media, and books in their original form - and learn naturally while you read.
KEY FEATURES
- Separable-prefix verbs reunited with their stems (fängt … an → anfangen) - no more guessing why "fängt" looks unfamiliar in the dictionary
- Reflexive verbs grouped correctly (sich erinnern, sich freuen) - looked up as a single unit
- Grundform (dictionary form) shown for every word, so you can always find it in any reference
- Instant translation of any selected German text on any webpage
- Click any word for definitions, gender, forms and grammatical info
- Personal dictionary - save words from anything you read
- Built-in flashcards to review and memorize saved vocabulary
WHY THIS MATTERS
Most translation tools translate words in isolation. That works for French or Spanish - but in German, a verb's meaning often depends on a prefix sitting at the end of the sentence. "Fängt" means nothing on its own; "anfangen" means "to begin." Generic translators show you "catches" and leave you confused. Lesewelle parses the sentence first, reunites the pieces, and then translates - so you get the meaning a native speaker would understand.
Same with reflexive verbs. "Erinnern" without "sich" is the wrong dictionary entry. Lesewelle groups them so your saved vocabulary actually matches what's in your textbook.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Highlight a sentence or paragraph in German on any webpage.
2. Lesewelle returns the translation alongside word-level breakdowns.
3. Click an unfamiliar word for full definitions and grammar notes.
4. Save anything worth remembering with one click.
5. Open the your dictionary whenever you want to drill what you've collected.
WHO IT'S FOR
