The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Ganitha
Ganitha — Accessible Math Reader
Ganitha collects no data. All math conversion happens on your device — nothing is sent to any server.
Math on the web is often rendered as MathML — a structured markup format used by libraries like KaTeX and MathJax. While MathML displays beautifully for sighted users, screen readers and Braille displays frequently stumble on it, reading out cryptic tag names or skipping equations entirely due to issues in screen reader.
Ganitha solves this. It silently scans every page you visit, finds MathML elements, and inserts a human-readable plaintext equivalent immediately after each equation. Your screen reader or Braille display then reads the math naturally, without any manual intervention.
Key features:
• Automatic detection of MathML on any web page
• Handles KaTeX-rendered and MathJax-rendered math
• Plaintext inserted inline — no popups, no disruption
• Activate any equation to copy its plaintext to the clipboard
• Configurable display options in the Options page
• Fully keyboard-accessible interface
• Works offline — no internet connection required
• Collects zero user data
Ganitha is designed for students, educators, researchers, and anyone who relies on assistive technology to access mathematical content online.
Single purpose: Convert MathML math on web pages into screen-reader and Braille-friendly plaintext.
