The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Frosted — WhatsApp Web Privacy
Frosted keeps your WhatsApp Web conversations private the moment you share your screen.
One click blurs every chat name and message — not just profile pictures — so nothing sensitive is readable on a call, a recording, or a projector. Turn it back off just as fast when you're done.
WHAT IT DOES
- Blur chat content — frosts the chat list and the open conversation, including contact names, message previews, and the chat header. Adjustable blur strength.
- Reveal on hover — hover a single row to un-blur just that one, for your eyes only, while everything else stays hidden.
- Cover the whole tab — drops a full-screen frosted "Try next time 😉" curtain over the entire tab in one press. Click anywhere to lift it.
- Keyboard shortcuts — Ctrl/⌘ + Shift + B to blur, Ctrl/⌘ + Shift + X to cover.
WHY YOU'LL WANT IT
- Join screen-share meetings without exposing private chats.
- Record tutorials and demos on WhatsApp Web with nothing to redact afterward.
- Glance-proof your screen in cafés, open offices, and classrooms.
PRIVACY
Frosted is pure CSS running locally in your browser. It reads no messages, sends nothing anywhere, and has no servers, accounts, or tracking. It only needs access to web.whatsapp.com so it can apply the blur on that page.
