The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.

What's new in Fontlens 0.1.7
Fontlens now works on more websites like on Reddit lightbox-style popups, and it now appears above full-screen views. We resolved a bug where you couldn't interact in those modes before.
Clearer searching. If the text box is empty, Fontlens asks you to type the letters in your selection before it searches making sure you don't get empty or bad results.
We fixed a small bug related to > Esc closes only Fontlens, not the page behind it.
Also find the latest version in the settings page, to keep up to date on when the extension has changed.

HOW IT WORKS
1. Click the Fontlens toolbar icon on any web page.
2. Drag a box around the text or lettering you want to identify.
3. Confirm the text and add optional hints — style (serif, sans, script, display, mono), posture (upright or italic), and fill (solid or outline). You can also leave the hints set to Auto and let the system make the choice.
4. Get a ranked list of matching and look-alike typefaces, ready to license (along with many free options).
WHY DESIGNERS USE IT
- Identify fonts straight from headlines, logos, posters, ads, and UI screenshots — right in the browser.
- No saving images or uploading them to a separate "what font is this" site.
- See close alternatives, not just a single guess, so you can match a look at any budget
- Every result links to YouWorkForThem (or Fontpath if you want), where fonts are subscription-free...buy once, own it forever. This is the big difference from our system and others, our licenses are not based on costly subscription plans.
FEATURES
- Drag-to-select capture on any regular web page — works on live text and rendered graphics alike.
- Style, posture, and fill hints to sharpen the match.
- Choose whether results open on YouWorkForThem or Fontpath.
- Fast, lightweight, and anonymous — no account or sign-in required, and no tracking.
PRIVACY
Fontlens only sends the small image region you select, and only when you click to identify a font. It doesn't read your browsing, track you, or collect personal data. Full details: https://www.youworkforthem.com/privacy-policy
