About Focusbind — Pomodoro Timer & Website Blocker
Focusbind pairs a Pomodoro timer with a website blocker for Chrome. Set aside distractions like YouTube and Instagram, make time for your work, and add a deliberate step before unblocking.
• Manage blocked websites, settings, timers, and unlock challenges directly on focusbind.com. The extension handles enforcement in the background.
• See the remaining session time in your browser tab, such as “22:35 - Focusbind.”
• Set a focus session from 1 to 180 minutes. Website blocking is optional; an empty site list still runs the timer.
• Choose how to end focus: wait 60 seconds, click 100 times, or hold Space continuously for 30 seconds. Then confirm to unblock. The End focus & unblock button sits below the timer controls; its challenge opens in a dialog with a full-page backdrop.
• Start a short or long break yourself, or start breaks automatically after focus. Configure all durations and the long-break interval.
• Breaks after a completed focus session unblock websites by default; early breaks keep sites blocked; choose to keep them blocked in Settings. After an unblocking break finishes, blocking returns. Pause/reset preserve the focus lock.
• Track focused time, completed sessions, your last seven days, and session history. Clear history after ending focus.
• Choose a completion sound, volume, optional button sounds and desktop notifications in Settings. No account or cloud sync is required.
• Use focusbind.com as a standalone Pomodoro tracker with saved sessions. Install the extension to manage blocking, unlock challenges, and extension sessions directly on focusbind.com. Timer-only website records remain saved separately.
Your settings and work history stay in your Chrome profile. Focusbind does not record browsing history or send focus data to a server. Website access enables domain blocking, tab access redirects matching open tabs, storage saves preferences, alarms maintain sessions, notifications announce completion, and a bundled offscreen page plays completion audio.
Blocking applies in Chrome while the extension is enabled. Chrome allows you to disable or uninstall extensions. Without the extension, the website saves its own timer history locally. With the extension connected, the website controls blocking while the extension enforces it in Chrome.
