The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About FocusBell - ADHD Focus Reminder & Gentle Distraction Nudges
FocusBell is an ADHD-friendly focus aid for students, professionals, and anyone who gets pulled away from work while browsing. Name the task you're focusing on, list the sites that tend to pull you away, and start a session.
When you land on one of those sites and stay past your chosen delay, FocusBell plays a bell and slides a compact banner down inside the page. You can return to your previous work tab or consciously allow the site.
HOW IT WORKS
Enter what you're focusing on
Add distracting sites, one per line — subdomains are included automatically
Wait before nudging: 10, 20, or 30 seconds, or 1, 2, or 5 minutes
Cooldown: repeat until you leave, or go quiet for 1, 3, 5, or 10 minutes
Toggle the bell and the on-page banner independently
Preview the sound anytime with "Test bell"
Return to your previous work tab with one click
Allow a site when you genuinely need it
TUNE IT TO YOUR BRAIN
A 10-second delay with "Repeat until I leave" is insistent — good for the sites that swallow whole afternoons. A 5-minute delay with a 10-minute cooldown is barely there — good for sites you need for work but sometimes wander on. Set it once and adjust as you learn your own patterns.
NO BLOCKING, NO SHAMING
FocusBell doesn't lock you out of anything. It notices when you've drifted and gives you the choice. Notice. Reset. Continue.
PRIVACY
Activity stays on your computer. FocusBell checks the active tab's domain locally, only during a session. It does not read page content, build a browsing profile, transmit browsing data, use analytics, require an account, show ads, or sell or share information. Your settings stay in Chrome's local extension storage until you change them, clear extension data, or uninstall.
IMPORTANT
FocusBell is a productivity aid. It does not diagnose, treat, or cure ADHD or any medical condition.
The specific delay and cooldown values are now listed — those ranges are a selling point, since most tools in this space give you one fixed setting. The new "Tune it to your brain" section turns the options into a reason to install rather than a spec list.
also if you choose return to previous work, you automatically mov=ar emove dto teh work tab.

When you land on one of those sites and stay past your chosen delay, FocusBell plays a bell and slides a compact banner down inside the page. Choose "Return" and it switches you straight back to the tab you were working in — no hunting through twenty open tabs to find where you left off. Or allow the site, if you actually need it right now.

That automatic tab switch is a better feature than the old wording suggested — "return to your previous work tab" sounded like a link you follow, when actually it does the work for you. It's now in the second paragraph where people will actually read it.
