About Focus Mode – Block Feeds, Not Tools

Block the distracting feeds that pull you off task. Works entirely in your browser. No account required. Focus Mode is a website blocker that blocks distracting feeds—but not the useful parts of websites. Keep the tools you need without the distractions. A different kind of website blocker Most blockers treat every page on a site the same. But you need video platforms for tutorials. You need professional networks for job search. You need community forums for specific discussions. What you don't need is the algorithmic feed engineered to steal your attention. Focus Mode blocks the feed, not the tool. How it works When you visit a supported site, Focus Mode checks the URL before the page finishes loading. Distracting paths—homepages, trending feeds, sidebars—are redirected to a clean block page with a live timer. Productive paths—search results, saved playlists, direct video links, job listings, direct messages, and specific communities—pass through untouched. Distracting pages are intercepted before they appear. The useful parts of each site remain accessible. What's inside 🎯 Selective Feed Blocking Major social networks, video platforms, and community sites are intelligently filtered. No content scripts. No fragile CSS selectors that break when sites redesign. Fast, reliable URL checks block the entire distracting page—sidebars, trending, and suggested content included. ⏱️ Deep Work Sessions Start a 25, 50, or 90-minute session (or set your own). While active, every tracked site is blocked completely—no exceptions. A live countdown appears in the popup and on every block page. Ends automatically, or end early if you really need to. 📅 Automatic Schedules Set recurring sessions that start without you touching anything. "Mon–Fri at 9:00 AM, start a 50-minute session." The extension checks every minute and fires exactly once per scheduled slot. No willpower required. 🛡️ Impulse Delay Set a cooldown timer (default 60 seconds) before you can disable Focus Mode or end a session early. When you try to quit, a countdown starts in the popup with a "Never mind, keep it on" button. Prevents the classic "I was just checking one thing" spiral. ☕ Break Reminders After every N minutes of deep work (default 25m), get a browser notification suggesting a break. Click "Take a break" to pause blocking for your break duration, then automatically resume. 🎯 Whitelist Mode Need maximum focus? Block everything except work sites you explicitly allow. Perfect for "I just need my code repository, design tool, and notes app today." 📊 Daily Focus Score Build consistency with simple daily progress tracking. Deep work minutes + prevented distractions × 2 + longest flow + streak bonus. ⌨️ Keyboard Shortcuts Ctrl+Shift+S (Win) / Cmd+Shift+S (Mac) — Instantly start a 25-minute session Ctrl+Shift+F (Win) / Cmd+Shift+F (Mac) — Toggle Focus Mode on/off 📤 Export / Import Settings One-click JSON export in Options. Paste into another browser to migrate your exact setup. No cloud required. ➕ Custom Sites Add your own distracting sites. Block them completely, or allow a daily time budget. Built for speed and simplicity A lightweight productivity extension that respects your time and privacy. No accounts, no cloud sync, no data collection, no subscription. Perfect for Developers who need documentation sites but not social debates Students who need educational videos but not short-form feeds Designers who need inspiration boards but not infinite scroll Remote workers who want to block distracting websites without losing access to work tools Anyone who wants to use the internet without being used by it
