Focus for YouTube

YouTube is built to keep you watching. Focus lets you turn off the parts that do that, so the next video is one you picked. Nothing gets blocked and nothing is locked. Every setting is a switch in the toolbar popup, and each one comes with a short note on why it pulls at you, so you can decide what's worth switching off. START IN ONE CLICK Pick Light, Focused or Minimal, then change anything you like. Light trims the loudest bits. Focused gives you a short feed and a quieter watch page. Minimal removes recommendations altogether. ON THE HOME PAGE - Hide the recommended feed, or keep it but stop it after a few rows. When you reach the end there's a "One more row" button if you really want it, or you can show the full feed for 10 minutes. - Put your Watch Later videos at the top, so the things you saved on purpose come first. - Open Subscriptions instead of the home page. - Hide Shorts, community posts, the sidebar, the notification bell and the topic chips. - Hide view counts, turn thumbnails grey, or blur them until you hover. WHILE YOU WATCH - Hide the related videos, the comments and the end-of-video suggestions. - Turn off autoplay and cancel the "Up next" countdown. - Hide view, like and subscriber counts. Comment and reply counts are blurred, not removed, so you can still open a thread. - Keep the sidebar inside playlists, where "up next" is actually what you want. - Choose whether things disappear only while a video plays, or stay hidden all the time. BLOCK WORDS AND CHANNELS Videos with a word you've blocked in the title, or from a channel you've blocked, disappear from your feed, search and the sidebar. Start from ready-made lists (news and politics, drama, clickbait, gaming, sports and more) and edit them however you like. On a video or channel page you can block that channel in one tap. Your own playlists are never touched. SEE WHERE YOUR TIME GOES - The popup shows your watch time for today and the last 7 days. - After a long stretch, you get one calm note you can dismiss. It's never a block, and it resets after 30 minutes away. - The watch map is optional and off until you switch it on. It shows which videos you went looking for and which ones YouTube put in front of you, and draws your rabbit holes as a map: which video led to which, and how long each one ran. It also shows the channels and topics that pull you in most, with a button to block each one. PAUSE WHENEVER YOU LIKE Pause Focus on a single tab from the popup, or with Alt+Shift+F. Your other tabs stay as they are. WHEN YOUTUBE CHANGES YouTube changes its layout a lot. Each setting shows a small dot telling you whether it's working on the page you're on. If one breaks before an update arrives, you can paste in a fix yourself from the popup. PRIVATE No account, no ads, no tracking, and no servers of ours. Your settings sync between your own Chrome browsers through Chrome's normal sync, and we never see them. Your watch time and watch map stay on your computer and are deleted after 90 days. You can export your settings to a file and load them on another computer.
