Choose between 12-hour and 24-hour formats. Set in a lightweight font that sits beautifully against any background without feeling heavy or intrusive. THE DATE AND LOCAL WEATHER Below the clock sits the date — spelled out in full — followed by a live weather readout from Open-Meteo, a free open-source weather service requiring no account and no API key. Conditions display in plain language: CLEAR, MOSTLY CLEAR, PARTLY CLOUDY, OVERCAST, FOGGY, DRIZZLE, RAIN, SNOW, SHOWERS, or THUNDERSTORM, with current temperature alongside. Toggle Fahrenheit/Celsius in Appearance. Hide weather entirely in Widgets — when you do, the separator and Celsius toggle disappear automatically. YOUR MAIN FOCUS A single-line field: "What's your main focus today?" Whatever you type saves instantly and persists until you change it — a lightweight daily commitment that keeps your most important priority visible before the noise of the day sets in. SEARCH BAR A built-in search and URL bar lives inside the glass card. Type to search Google, type a domain to navigate directly. Add tasks by typing and pressing Enter. Mark them done with a click — they strike through and dim. A counter shows how many remain. All data saves instantly to local Chrome storage. TASKS VISIBLE ON YOUR NEW TAB Enable "Active tasks below clock" in Widgets and your pending tasks appear as a live frosted list directly below the glass card — no panel to open, visible every single time you open a tab. Click any item's checkbox to mark it complete. It disappears from the overlay immediately and syncs to your task list in real time. Your priorities stay on screen where you actually spend your time. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ AI ASSISTANT — POWERED BY YOUR OWN KEY ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ FlowTab includes a full, general-purpose AI assistant — not a limited FAQ bot. It's a capable AI you can talk to about anything: draft emails, brainstorm ideas, explain concepts, debug code, translate, proofread, plan trips, think through decisions. No topic restrictions. No contextual limits. HOW IT WORKS FlowTab passes your messages directly from your browser to your chosen AI provider — OpenAI (GPT-4o mini) or Anthropic (Claude Haiku). FlowTab is never in the loop and adds zero markup to AI costs. You pay your provider only for what you use. Both models typically cost well under a dollar per month for daily casual use. SETUP Open Settings → AI Assistant, choose your provider, paste your API key, click Save. Your key is stored in Chrome's local extension storage and never transmitted to anyone except your chosen AI provider.
