Flashcards & Spaced Repetition

Master anything with science-backed spaced repetition — right from your browser. Flashcards & Spaced Repetition uses the FSRS-4.5 algorithm (Free Spaced Repetition Scheduler) with pre-trained weights from the open-spaced-repetition community to schedule your reviews at the optimal moment, just before you're about to forget. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🧠 CORE FEATURES • Smart Scheduling (FSRS-4.5) — Every card is individually tracked with stability, difficulty, and retrievability metrics. Reviews are scheduled at the mathematically optimal interval for 90% retention. • Multiple Practice Modes — Flashcard mode (classic flip-and-rate), Multiple Choice (MCQ), and flexible direction: Forward, Reverse, or Mixed. • 4-Point Rating System — Rate each card as Forgot, Almost, Got It, or Easy. The algorithm adjusts intervals precisely based on your response. • Due Review Filter — Practice only cards that are due, or review your entire deck. Cards you forget are automatically re-queued within the same session. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🎯 MEMORY ENCODING TOOLS Three cognitive science tools to supercharge your initial learning: • Dual Coding — Assign visual emojis to each card. Storing information in two formats (verbal + visual) nearly doubles retention. • Chunking — Write mini-stories, acronyms, or mnemonics that link prompts and answers into memorable patterns. • Method of Loci — Place each item in a room of your mental memory palace. Vivid, exaggerated mental images create powerful recall anchors. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 📚 DECK MANAGEMENT • Smart Content Parser — Paste vocabulary lists, markdown tables, tab-separated data, numbered lists, or colon/dash-separated pairs. The parser auto-detects the format and creates cards instantly. • Import & Export — Full JSON import/export to back up your decks or share them with others. • Card Maturity Tracking — Each card shows its learning stage: New → Learning → Young → Review → Mature. • Study Streak — Track your daily consistency with an automatic streak counter. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ⚡ DESIGNED FOR SPEED • Opens instantly from the toolbar — no new tabs, no loading screens. • Works 100% offline after installation. Zero network requests. • All data stored locally in your browser. Nothing leaves your device. • Keyboard shortcuts: Space to reveal, 1-4 to rate. • Session state persists across popup open/close — pick up exactly where you left off. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🔬 THE SCIENCE Spaced repetition exploits the "spacing effect" — the finding that information is better retained when reviews are spread out over increasing intervals rather than crammed in a single session. The FSRS algorithm models your memory mathematically, predicting exactly when each card's retrievability will drop below 90%, and scheduling the review just before that point. This means you spend the minimum time reviewing for maximum retention. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ PERFECT FOR: • Language learners (vocabulary, grammar, phrases) • Medical & nursing students (anatomy, pharmacology, pathology) • Law students (case law, statutes, definitions) • Certification prep (IT, finance, professional exams) • Trivia & general knowledge enthusiasts • Anyone who needs to memorize facts efficiently ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ GET STARTED IN SECONDS 1.
