The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Filter for YouTube
Filter for YouTube hides the videos you're tired of seeing. List the topics you're done with, like war, celebrity gossip, reaction videos or gambling, and it covers, dims or hides matching videos. It goes by what a video is about, not by keywords, so it also catches videos that never use your exact words.
HOW IT WORKS
• List the topics you don't want to see.
• Choose how sure the filter must be before it acts (50–95%, 65% by default). Videos it isn't sure about are left alone.
• Choose what happens to a match: cover it (with a button to show it), dim it, or hide it.
• Choose where it applies: Home, Subscriptions, Search results, and the suggestions next to the video you're watching. Search and suggestions are off by default.
Everything can be undone. A badge on each filtered video brings it back, and a chip on the page shows everything the filter changed.
WHAT YOU NEED
The extension uses TypeSafe's Jev AI model to tell what each video is about, and it needs your own Jev API key. Paste the key on the settings page and click Connect. Usage counts against your TypeSafe account. A daily limit you set caps how many videos are checked, and once it's reached your feed simply stays unfiltered until the next day.
PRIVACY
• No account, no server of our own, no analytics or tracking.
• Only while the filter is on, and only on the pages you turned on: for each video that scrolls into view, its title, channel name, duration and description snippet are sent with your topic list directly to TypeSafe's API. Nothing else.
• Never read or sent: watch history, comments, subscriptions, playlists, cookies, passwords, thumbnails or the video itself.
• By default your key is forgotten when you close the browser. Keeping it is an opt-in.
• The extension can't reach TypeSafe until you grant access, and removing your key takes that access away again.
