FeelCalc is a browser extension that tracks your browsing behavior and calculates a real-time Feel Score (0–100) representing internet anxiety. Based on research by Dr. Santosh Kalwar on digital wellbeing and internet-induced anxiety. **Core Features:** - Feel Score Engine — weighted heuristic model combining content type, scroll speed variance, tab switching frequency, and session length - Floating Indicator — color-coded circle on every page (green → yellow → orange → red) - Popup Dashboard — live score, trend chart, contributing factors, and score breakdown - Anxiety Heatmap — highlights stress-triggering headlines on news and social media sites - Smart Interventions — guided 30-second box breathing exercise when anxiety is elevated - Grayscale Mode — desaturates the page to reduce dopamine-driven scrolling - Sentiment Journal — privacy-first emotional tracking over time - Social Media Detection — enhanced scoring for doomscrolling on Twitter/X, Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, TikTok - Content Scanning — detects negative keyword density on social media feeds - Late-Night Awareness — increased scoring for negative browsing after midnight **Privacy First:** All data stays in your browser using local storage. No external servers, no analytics, no tracking. URLs are sanitized — only domain and path are stored, never query parameters. Journal entries store scores and categories only, never personal data.
