About FeedFilter — LinkedIn & X feed filter
FeedFilter hides the posts you never wanted to see — stale, out-of-network, promoted, and anything from a person or word you list — from your LinkedIn, X, Hacker News, Reddit and Threads feeds.
It works from what is already on the page: post age, connection degree, an ad label, and the post text you ask it to watch for. No API key, no account, and no network calls. Everything runs in your browser.
WHAT IT HIDES
• Old posts. Hide anything past a reply window you choose, or past each platform's own window by default. This is what catches the week-old resurfaced posts LinkedIn likes to show.
• Posts with no date. Promoted and resurfaced cards often carry no timestamp; treat them as old and they stop slipping through.
• Promoted posts. LinkedIn's "Promoted" label, and X's "Ad" and "Promoted" labels.
• Posts outside your network. Choose 1st and 2nd connections, or 1st only / 2nd only. Only LinkedIn reports a degree, so this rule never touches the other sites.
• People you never want to see, and words or phrases you never want to read. A mute for "Raj" will not hide "Rajesh" — names match on whole words.
HOW FILTERED POSTS SHOW UP
Filtered posts are collapsed with a "show anyway" strip by default, or dimmed, or hidden outright.
The label says why: Filtered — old (3d). Turn the filter off and every mark is cleared.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• No network requests. No API key, no account, no server.
• The only stored data is your settings and your hide lists, kept in Chrome's own storage on your device.
• No background worker and no broad host permissions: it runs only on the five feeds above.
• Your "Always show" list always wins. A person you always want to see is never filtered.
WORKS ON
