About Face Blur for Videos

Automatically blurs people's faces in YouTube videos. Useful when you want to focus on what is being said or shown on screen, without being distracted by the speaker's face or expressions. It may also help if eye contact or facial expressions make it hard for you to concentrate. Features - Works on regular videos, live streams, and Shorts. - Choose how faces are hidden: blur, solid color, or a smiley sticker. - Adjust blur strength, cover size, detection sensitivity, and more from the menu. Changes apply to the video right away. - Turn it on or off at any time by clicking the extension icon. - A "high detection mode" helps find small faces, such as those in a corner of the screen (uses more CPU). Privacy Face detection runs entirely inside your browser. Video is never sent anywhere. The extension does not collect your browsing history or any personal information. The only thing it stores is your menu settings. Notes - Face detection is not perfect. The blur may miss or lag behind faces that are in profile, small, or in dark scenes. - It is designed for real people's faces, not anime or illustrations. - It only works on YouTube (www.youtube.com), not on YouTube videos embedded in other sites. - On slower computers, video playback may become less smooth. - Tested on Chrome for Windows. It should also work on Mac, ChromeOS, and Linux, but this has not been verified. Face detection is powered by Google's MediaPipe.
