The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About F4T Tools
F4T Tools adds extra profile information to Free4Talk, so you can see who you're about to talk to before you join a room. It also lets you play music from your own YouTube to the whole room, keeps your DMs beyond Free4Talk's 7 days, remembers the chat from every room you visit, and greets people as they join.
WHAT IT SHOWS
• Most-used languages and English levels
• Favourite room topics
• The people they talk to most
• How many rooms they've created, joined, or been muted in
WHERE IT APPEARS
• A small info button on every person's card inside a room, click it for an instant summary
• Inside Free4Talk's own profile window
• A link to open the full profile on the free4talk.me tracker
PLAY FROM YOUR YOUTUBE — NEW (PRO)
Pick music on YouTube itself (your recommendations, Mixes, playlists, liked videos) and play it to your Free4Talk room. A YouTube button in the room's YouTube panel opens a YouTube tab connected to your room. The first time, Chrome asks you to allow access to youtube.com. Then:
• Open any video and it plays in the room for everyone. The YouTube tab stays paused and muted, so the only sound is the room's
• When a video ends, the next song in your queue plays, or YouTube's Up next, so playlists and Mixes play through
• Build your queue with a + on any video thumbnail, or queue a whole playlist or Mix in one click
• A floating card on YouTube shows what's playing, with pause, next and your queue. Drag it anywhere, or shrink it to a spinning disc
• Drag the YouTube progress bar and the room jumps there too
• The connected tab wears an indigo icon, so it's easy to spot
Play from your YouTube needs a Pro account on free4talk.me.
DM HISTORY — NEW (PRO)
Free4Talk deletes direct messages after 7 days. F4T Tools keeps them on your device: scroll to the top of a conversation and, once Free4Talk has nothing older, your saved messages appear right above, in the same chat, with no separate window. If a message is deleted after it was saved, you still see the original, marked as deleted. Messages are saved as Free4Talk loads them (every chat you open, plus each chat's newest message), so opening a chat at least once a week keeps everything. DM history needs a Pro account on free4talk.me.
SKIP NON-MUSIC PARTS — NEW
Music videos often open with an intro and end with talking. Turn on "Skip non-music parts" in the room's YouTube panel, and videos you start jump straight past those parts, for everyone in the room. The parts come from SponsorBlock's community data, looked up privately: SponsorBlock never learns which video you're playing. Free for everyone.
SPOTIFY PLAYER (PRO)
Connect your Spotify account and play your playlists to the whole room through Free4Talk's built-in YouTube player. A Spotify button in the chat toolbar opens the player panel, where you can:
• Browse your playlists with cover art, album art on every track, and search inside any playlist
• Click a track and the extension finds it on YouTube and plays it to the room. When a song ends, the next one starts automatically
• Shuffle, repeat, Play all, and a Suggestions panel with songs like the one playing
• See exactly what's playing: the Spotify track, the matched YouTube video, and previous / pause / next / stop controls
• If someone else in the room plays their own video, your playlist steps aside and picks up again when their video ends
Setup is one-time and guided: the panel walks you through creating your own free Spotify app and connecting it. Spotify Player needs a Pro account on free4talk.me.
SAVED CHATS (PRO)
Free4Talk forgets a room's chat the moment you leave. F4T Tools can remember the chat from up to 200 rooms. A history button in the chat toolbar opens the Saved Chats panel, where you can:
• Browse past conversations, each with the room's language, topic, and a preview of the last message
• Search by who was talking or anything that was said
• Bring a past conversation back into your current room instantly, with no page reload, and return to the live chat with one click
Saved Chats needs a Pro account on free4talk.me. Everyone else can see the button and what the feature offers.
WELCOME MESSAGE
Greet people as they join your room. Write your message in the popup, and {name} becomes a tag of whoever joined. Someone who comes back after a while (30 minutes by default, or never) gets a separate welcome-back message, and you choose how long to wait before greeting, from 2 seconds up to a minute. It's posted from your account like any chat message and needs the chat panel open.
UNVERIFIED AVATARS
Free4Talk replaces unverified members' profile pictures with coloured initials. F4T Tools can show the real picture instead, while keeping a small "unverified" label so you always know the account isn't confirmed. Two switches in the popup control this: when you open a profile, and everywhere on the site. You can also turn it off entirely.
GETTING STARTED
1. Create your free API key at https://www.free4talk.me/api-key
2. Click the F4T Tools icon and paste the key in
3. Open free4talk.com and click any user
PRIVACY
No analytics, no tracking, no ads. It never listens to your audio. F4T Tools runs on free4talk.com, and on youtube.com only if you connect a YouTube tab to your room, and then only in that tab. Saved chats and DM history are stored only in your own browser and are never uploaded anywhere. The extension contacts free4talk.me only to look up the profile summary you asked for and to check your account's Pro status. If you connect Spotify, it talks directly to Spotify to sign you in and list your playlists. Your tokens stay on your device, and we never see your Spotify account or password. With a YouTube tab connected, it looks up video titles from YouTube's public oEmbed service. With "Skip non-music parts" on, it asks SponsorBlock for a video's non-music parts using only a short hash of the video's ID.
