The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Every Dictionary — Select & Brainstorm
Every Dictionary turns any word you read into a full breakdown, without
breaking your flow.
Select a single word on any page. A small "Brainstorm" bubble appears next to
it — click it, and the extension opens with that word already looked up.
WHAT YOU GET FOR A WORD
• An AI definition written for English learners, in plain language
• 12 synonyms and 12 antonyms, each clickable to jump straight to that word
• Real example sentences from published text, translated into your language
• Pronunciation, with audio where available
• Four gifs showing the word in use
HOW TO USE IT
• Select one word → click the bubble
• Or select a word and click the toolbar icon (Ctrl+Shift+D works anywhere)
• Or right-click a selection → "Brainstorm … on Every Dictionary"
• Click the icon with nothing selected for a search box and your recent lookups
• Click any synonym or antonym to look that word up in turn
ONE WORD AT A TIME
Select two or more words and nothing appears. Brainstorm works on single words,
so a phrase has nothing to offer and the bubble stays out of your way.
SIGNED IN OR NOT
Signed out, you get the plain dictionary entry — definitions, pronunciation,
synonyms — free, with no account.
Signed in with Google or an email address, you get the AI breakdown: the
learner-friendly definition, the fuller synonym and antonym lists, translated
example sentences and gifs. Each new word uses one credit from your Every
Dictionary account. Words you have already looked up are cached on your own
device for 30 days and cost nothing to read again.
Run out of credits and it falls back to the free dictionary entry rather than
a wall.
PRIVACY
The only thing that leaves your browser is the single word being looked up,
sent to Every Dictionary's own API. Your session and your cached words are
stored locally on your device. Nothing else is collected, and no browsing
activity is tracked.
The bubble can be turned off entirely from the extension's menu.
