The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Dual Subtitles: Learn Languages with Movies
Dual Subtitles helps you learn languages while watching films, series, and videos.
It shows two subtitle lines at the same time: the original line and a translation underneath. You can click any word to translate it, then save useful words to your vocabulary with the sentence where you found them.
The extension can also search for available online subtitles for the current movie or episode and load them into the player. This is useful when the website has no suitable subtitle track, when subtitles are missing in your language, or when you want to use a different subtitle source.
Works on selected video websites, currently including Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Kino.pub, YouTube, and HDRezka.
Main features:
Dual subtitles
See the original subtitle line and a translated line together while watching.
Online subtitle search
Find available subtitles for the current title, choose a language, load the selected subtitle, and show it in the video overlay.
Click-to-translate
Click any word in the subtitle overlay to get a quick translation without opening another tab.
Vocabulary book
Save translated words with their context, language pair, translator, and date.
Local settings and vocabulary
Your saved words and settings are stored locally in your browser.
Export vocabulary
Search, filter, and export saved words as CSV or JSON for spreadsheets or flashcard apps.
Translation options
Use Chrome built-in translation when available, or choose an online translation fallback. You can also connect your own API key for higher-quality translation.
Subtitle controls
Adjust subtitle size, position, timing offset, font, background darkness, and translation color.
Privacy
Dual Subtitles does not collect analytics, telemetry, browsing history, video, or audio. It does not have a developer backend server. When an online translator or online subtitle search is used, only the data needed for that selected feature is sent to the corresponding service.
