About Dress Aloud

Dress Aloud puts the clothes you are looking at onto your own full-body photo and then tells you, honestly, how it looks and whether it will fit. It was built with and for blind and low-vision shoppers, and everything it says is written to be heard through a screen reader. HOW IT WORKS 1. Add Dress Aloud. It opens once. If you already use Dress Aloud in this browser, it signs itself in and brings your photo and measurements across; there is nothing to type. If not, it asks for your access code and your full-body photo. That is the whole setup. 2. Browse any clothing store. When you land on a clothing page, your screen reader hears: "Dress Aloud: this looks like clothing. Press Alt plus Shift plus D to try it on." 3. Press Alt+Shift+D (or the toolbar button). The side panel opens and the try-on starts by itself: the picture is made, then described honestly: the bottom line, the fit, the color, the drawbacks. If you gave a size, the store link opens with that size selected. Not sure between two sizes? Enter both and one press tries them side by side. WHAT IT TELLS YOU - One plain verdict first: buy it, buy a different size, a word of caution, or do not buy. Then the reasons, with the store's size chart checked against your own height, weight and measurements. Every number it says is checked against the page and your measurements; anything it cannot support is removed, and it tells you so. - A return-risk line, low, medium or high, before the store link, worked out from the chart, the fabric and what fit you at that brand before. - The size chart read aloud as sentences, and a sold-out size said plainly. - It remembers what fit you at each brand, asks you a week later whether the purchase fit, and can watch an item and tell you when your size is back or the price drops. - Ask a sighted friend: send one picture and the verdict by a private link and hear their reply read back. - "Would it go with my gray jeans?" Pair it with something you own, or press Talk and say what you want. - Several tabs open? Alt+Shift+O gathers them into one outfit: one picture, one verdict per piece. EASY TO USE - Talk to text on every box. Say your height, measurements or a question instead of typing them. - Help measuring yourself without sight: a spoken, step-by-step walkthrough, or send a sighted friend a private link and they fill in your numbers for you (numbers only, never your photo). - Choose a full or brief announcement: hear the whole result, or just the verdict first. - Search your past try-ons by store or verdict, and email any result to yourself. - Moving to another device? A one-time link carries your measurements across. WHY IT IS DIFFERENT - No copying links. Dress Aloud reads the page you are on, as your browser sees it, including stores that block automatic readers. - Honest, not flattering. If it looks bad, it says so. Our measured results, misses included, are public at dressaloud.com/honesty. - Made for ears, not eyes. Every step is announced; nothing depends on seeing the screen. - Ask follow-up questions about the try-on, hear it again in the voice you choose, and keep a history. NO AFFILIATE LINKS, NO ADS Store links go to the store exactly as the store wrote them. Dress Aloud adds nothing to them and earns nothing when you buy. The verdict has no stake in your purchase. Try-ons use a Dress Aloud access code. One try-on is free, no card, through December 31, 2026; after that, plans and packs are at dressaloud.com. Your photo stays on your device and is only sent, together with the garment picture, to make the try-on you asked for. Nothing about your browsing is sent unless you start a try-on.
