DrawingDesk for Gmail is a shop drawing and submittal tracker that lives right inside Gmail. It was built by an elevator shop drawing coordinator, for coordinators who manage submittals over email. Free during early access. If your shop drawings live in Gmail, you know the drill: dozens of threads per job, each waiting on someone different. Is it with the architect (AOR)? The structural engineer (SEOR)? Are we the ones holding it up? When did you last follow up? DrawingDesk answers all of that without leaving your inbox. TRACK EVERY SUBMITTAL IN GMAIL • One click turns an email thread into a tracked submittal. • Color-coded status badges on the thread and in your inbox list: Waiting on our drawings, Waiting on revision, Waiting on approval, Waiting on new drawings from them, Approved as noted, Approved. • Waiting on approval? Mark who has it: AOR, SEOR, or both. • Add your own statuses ("hoistway dims from GC", "on hold") with your own colors. • A panel in Gmail's right-hand side bar (next to Calendar, Keep and Tasks) lists every open submittal, grouped and searchable. • Approved jobs move to an archive so your list stays a to-do list. FOLLOW-UPS THAT DON'T SLIP • Log every chase and set the next follow-up date. • Get a desktop reminder the day a follow-up is due, plus a "due today" strip in Gmail. • Overdue submittals rise to the top of the panel. GOOGLE SHEETS DASHBOARD • One click creates a dashboard spreadsheet in your own Google Drive that syncs automatically: Open, Overdue, Due this week and Approved this month, plus a "Needs attention" list. • Good for weekly meetings and for showing your PM or GC where every submittal stands. • Working as a team? An optional shared team sheet lets several coordinators sync into one Google Sheet. BACKUP AND PRIVACY • Automatic backup to a private, hidden folder in YOUR Google Drive.
