DogechatEXT

🚀 Welcome to the Doge-verse! Connect with people around you (or around the world) without giving up your privacy. DogechatEXT uses the power of Nostr and Geohashing to create instant, decentralized chat rooms based on location. No central servers, no data farming—just pure, cryptographic chat. 📍 How It Works: The extension detects your location (or lets you fake it!) and converts it into a "Geohash"—a short string of characters that represents a specific area on Earth. Everyone in that same Geohash is automatically in the same chat room. ✨ Key Features: 🌍 Global & Local Chat: Chat with neighbors ~1km away or expand your range to the whole city. Precision adjusts automatically! ⚡ Real-Time & Decentralized: Fully powered by the Nostr protocol. Messages relay through damus.io, nos.lol, primal.net, and other top-tier relays. 🚀 Quick Teleport: Bored of your local area? Instantly "teleport" to active hot-spots including: 🌁 San Francisco (SF) 🗽 New York City (NYC) 🗼 Tokyo (TYO) 🇬🇧 London (LDN) ...and more! 🎨 Polished UI: Built-in Emoji Picker: Fast access to 🐕, 🚀, 🌙, and other essential reactions. Optimistic UI: Messages appear instantly for a smooth chat experience. Clear Chat: Wipe your local history with one click. 🔐 Private & Secure: Bring Your Own Keys: Supports NIP-07 (browser signers) or generates a fresh local keypair for you. No Tracking: We don't collect data. Your keys stay on your device. 📱 Cross-Platform: Fully compatible with the Dogechat Android app. Chat from your desktop with users on mobile! 🛠️ Technical Specs: Built with nostr-tools, noble-secp256k1, and ngeohash. Connects to up to 15 optimized relays simultaneously (latency-sorted). Open Source: https://github.com/GreatApe42069/dogechat-extension ⚠️ Important: Public Protocol: All messages are broadcast to public Nostr relays. Do not share sensitive personal information. Beta Software: Much development. Such updates. 🐶 Much chat. Very community. Install now!
