The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Defeed - Distraction-Free YouTube & LinkedIn
Browse on purpose. Not where the feed pulls.
Defeed strips the feeds, recommendations, and engagement bait out of YouTube, LinkedIn, and Reddit, so you go there for something and leave when you've found it. Every feature is its own switch: keep what helps, hide what pulls.
On YouTube
• Hide home page recommendations (or redirect straight to Subscriptions)
• Hide Shorts everywhere, or just from the sidebar
• Hide auto-generated Mixes, Explore/Trending, and the notifications bell
• Hide the end-of-video wall and turn off autoplay
• Hide comments and live chat
• Blur thumbnails until you hover them
• Block videos by title or channel keyword — or mark them with a small badge instead of hiding them outright, so you can still see what was blocked
On LinkedIn
• Hide the main feed, replaced by a calm card
• Hide "People You May Know," promoted posts, and suggested posts
• Hide the entire right rail (news, upsells, suggestions)
• Hide reaction and comment counts
• Hide the floating messaging pop-up and notification badges
On Reddit
• Hide the home feed
• Hide promoted posts and adult (NSFW) content
• Hide recommended posts from communities you don't follow
• Blur thumbnails until you hover them
• Hide comments
• Hide Popular and News in the left menu, and the Recent section
• Hide the right sidebar
Everywhere
• Grayscale the whole page
• Dim images and thumbnails until you hover them
• A "What are you here to do?" prompt before the feed loads with a quiet weekly summary of how often you answered it versus skipped it, never what you typed
• Local time tracking, daily limits, and schedules — with a 5-minute snooze when you need it
Privacy
