DDS Stamp Puncher

A little digital stationery: frame a detail, punch it out and keep a piece of the internet. DDS Stamp Puncher turns a detail on a webpage into a small, stamp-shaped PNG. Move the puncher over something you want to keep, choose a size and click to cut it out. A colour, a word, an image or a small discovery: give it a place outside the endless scroll. FRAME. PUNCH. KEEP. • Start the puncher from the extension popup and move it over the page. • Choose Small, Medium or Large with 1, 2 or 3, right-click, or Alt/Option + mouse wheel. • Click to punch out the framed detail and save it as a PNG with a transparent stamp-shaped edge. • Use Freeze & cut to work from a still view. The keyboard shortcut lets you capture a hover state before the tool appears. • Press M to turn the punch sound on or off. Press Esc to leave the tool. YOUR LITTLE COLLECTION Stamps are saved in a DDS_Stamp_Puncher folder inside your browser’s download location. Filenames include the source website’s hostname, the local date and time, and the selected size. Your size and sound preferences are remembered on this device. KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS Alt/Option + Shift + S: start or stop the puncher. Alt/Option + Shift + F: freeze the current view and cut. Shortcuts can be changed in Chrome’s extension shortcut settings and may be unavailable if already assigned elsewhere. LOCAL BY DESIGN The extension processes screenshots on your device. It does not send your captures, page content or preferences to Domestic Data Streamers or an external server, and it includes no advertising or analytics. Chrome captures the visible tab to create the cutout, so visible personal information can be included if you choose to capture it. Downloaded filenames also reveal the source hostname. Works on regular websites where Chrome permits extensions to run. Chrome’s internal pages and the Chrome Web Store cannot be captured by this tool; some other restricted pages may also be unavailable. An exploration by Domestic Data Streamers.
