About Date-Backwards History Cleaner
Date-Backwards History Cleaner
Clear old Chrome browsing history and download records while keeping your recent activity. Choose a cutoff date and time, and the extension removes records from before that point.
Preview a purge before running it: see how many records would be removed and which domains are affected. Protect domains you want to keep, including their subdomains, and import or export your protected-domain list.
You can also enable automatic daily or weekly purges based on a rolling retention period. Choose whether to clean browsing history, the download list, or both. Manual purges require confirmation.
Your downloaded files are never deleted. The extension removes entries from Chrome’s download list, not files from your device. It does not clear cookies, cache, passwords, or form data.
Settings, protected domains, and the activity log are stored locally in Chrome. The extension does not inject content into websites or load remote code.
Note: When domain protection is enabled, a page with visits both before and after your cutoff is kept intact to protect your recent activity. Some older visits to that page may therefore remain.
Choose a cleanup date — Set a custom cutoff or use quick presets for 7, 30, or 90 days, or 1 year.
