All your Brightspace deadlines in one side panel, kept up to date when profs move dates, with reminders before things close. > DALnow is a Chrome extension for Dalhousie students. It reads deadlines from Brightspace and lists them in a side panel next to whatever you’re working on. > When you open the panel, DALnow checks your Brightspace courses for assignments, quizzes, labs, discussions, and other dated items. It sorts them into Overdue, Today, This week, Next week, and Later. Clicking an item opens it where it was posted. > DALnow checks again every 30 minutes while Chrome is open. If a professor moves a due date, the new date is highlighted and the old date is crossed out, so you don’t have to update a calendar by hand. If Brightspace is unavailable, DALnow keeps showing the last list it read and tries again later. > Reminders Assignments, labs, quizzes, discussions, and other items each get their own reminder time—from seven days before to the morning they’re due. You can turn off a whole type of item or reminders for a specific course. Reminders stop once Brightspace shows you submitted, once the deadline passes, or when you check an item off yourself. >Universal search On any Brightspace page, press Alt+K (or Option+K on Mac) to search content, assignments, quizzes, and discussions across every course. Select a result to open it directly in Brightspace. The search index stays locally in Chrome and can be rebuilt from DALnow’s settings. > Privacy DALnow reads Brightspace through the session already signed in to your browser, so it never sees or stores your password. Your courses, deadlines, and settings stay in Chrome’s local storage on your computer.
