About D365 Tools

A developer and tester toolkit for Dynamics 365 model-driven apps and Dataverse. It opens as a panel beside the record you already have open, so the things you normally leave Dynamics to do happen in place. No sign-in. No app registration, client id, tenant id or password. The panel runs inside the tab you are already signed in to and uses the page's own Xrm client API and the Dataverse Web API as you, with exactly your privileges. Anything your security role forbids stays forbidden. Press Alt+Shift+D on any Dynamics record, or click the toolbar icon. NINE TOOLS Fields Every attribute on the form with its live value, editable and saveable - including read-only, hidden and off-tab fields. Switch to "All columns" to see and edit every column on the table, not just the ones a form happens to place. Ranked search by logical name, label or control name. Click any logical name to copy it, or copy them all. Plugins Every plugin step that can fire for the table, ordered by stage and rank, with its message, stage, mode, rank and filtering attributes. Enable or disable a step from the list. Expand one for the assembly, isolation mode and unsecure configuration, and load its plugin trace logs with timings, correlation IDs and full exception details. Processes Workflows, business rules, actions, business process flows and Power Automate cloud flows. Activate or deactivate from the list; click a name to open it in its designer. Three scopes: bound to this table, not bound to any table (where most cloud flows live), or everything. Web API Builds requests from the record you have open - environment, table, record id and entity set detected for you. Pick columns, add $filter, $expand, $orderby and $top, then copy the URL, the raw request, the Xrm.WebApi JavaScript or the SDK C#. A relationship picker inserts the correct navigation property into $expand. GET executes inline; writes require a second confirming press. Solutions Browse a solution's components, or search for a component and see which solutions contain it, with layer information. Add a component to a solution, remove one, set the version, or export the solution as a .zip. Depends What uses a component, what that component needs, and a delete-safety check that separates published dependencies from solution-internal ones. Compare Diff this environment against another you are signed in to in the same browser: columns, choices, forms, views, plugin steps, processes and environment variables, marked same / different / missing. Export as JSON, CSV or an HTML report. Secret environment variable values are never read or shown. Scripts Find a JavaScript, HTML, CSS or XML web resource, edit it, syntax check it, save it and publish it - without the edit, zip, import, publish round trip. Save and publish are separate steps, so an unpublished save stays invisible to users while you check it. Tools One-click links into the table designer, records grid, metadata, solutions, Advanced Find, trace logs, system jobs and security roles. Reversible form toggles that show logical names, unlock read-only fields, reveal hidden tabs and sections, show choice values and drop required levels - all restored exactly on toggle off, and a page refresh undoes everything. Plus the form's script wiring, a record snapshot and diff for proving what a plugin changed, and a one-click bug report. WHY IT SAVES TIME Reading a column's logical name without opening the designer. Editing a field the form has locked or hidden, to reproduce a bug. Proving what a plugin or flow actually changed, with a before and after snapshot instead of an audit trawl. Finding which script runs on a form, and whether it is disabled. Writing a reproducible bug report with the environment, user, record, form and field changes already filled in. PRIVACY No account, no telemetry, no analytics. Nothing is sent anywhere except to your own Dynamics environment. The only things stored in the browser are your theme choice and the environment URLs you type into the comparison tool. PERMISSIONS The extension requests access to Dynamics 365 hosts only (*.dynamics.com and *.crm.dynamics.cn). It needs this to inject the panel into the page and to call your organization's Dataverse Web API as you. It requests no other permissions. LIMITS Works on Dynamics 365 model-driven apps. Most tools need a record form open. The Plugins, Processes, Solutions and Scripts tools need the privileges a System Customizer or System Administrator normally has; without them the panel says which privilege is missing rather than showing an empty list. Real-time plugin debugging is not possible from a browser extension - that needs the Plugin Registration Tool's profiler. This gives you the full trace log diagnostics instead.
