Cuescribe – Video transcripts and captions

Read a video's captions beside the video, find the sentence you need, and take the words into your next project. Cuescribe opens a transcript side panel for supported videos with available captions. Search the words, click a timestamp to seek, copy with or without times, and save TXT, SRT or VTT. Missing captions, private content and platform blocking can prevent retrieval. Some social platforms open their corresponding website tool rather than showing a transcript in the panel. The extension does not download YouTube videos or audio. Local-file transcription is a separate tool on cuescribe.app. The support page explains the current platform paths. YOUR CONTROLS AND DATA No new account is needed for Free. While the panel is open, automatic caption loading is on by default; switch off “Load automatically” to fetch on demand. The extension checks the active tab URL to identify supported videos but does not keep a general browsing-history log. The transcript library stays in local extension storage. Remove an entry from Library or uninstall to delete that storage. The extension contains no developer analytics or advertising trackers. Platform requests use your browser connection. Website handoffs and optional licence verification are explained in the privacy policy. OPTIONAL PRO Free features work without a licence. Locked controls are optional paid features: Markdown/JSON exports, full-text library search (up to 2,000 saved transcripts) and playlist batches. Payment and activation are separate from Free. Confirm activation is available on the live service before purchasing; contact the developer if it is unavailable. Cuescribe is independent of the video platforms. Reuse captions or media only where you have permission. Copy guardrails No “any video,” guaranteed timing, universal availability, unlimited library, guaranteed Pro activation, ratings, users or store-approval claims. The earlier continuously highlighted playback-line claim was removed because it is absent from the current source. Following Makerfern's documented rejection lesson, the public copy contains no list of platform brand names. Exact platform support belongs in the support, permission and reviewer documents; the explicit YouTube media exclusion is a limitation, not a keyword list.
