About Cream Paper — Sepia Reading Background
Does the white glare of the web tire your eyes?
Dark mode helps some people, but for many it just trades one problem for another: text that glows on black, photos that look washed out, and pages that are hard to read in daylight.
Cream Paper takes a third path. It repaints the harsh white surfaces of any website in a warm, paper-like tone — cream, sepia, or soft gray — the way a printed page looks. Nothing glows. Nothing is inverted.
WHAT IT DOES
• Replaces the white background of any site with a calm, warm tone
• Four presets: Soft Cream, Warm Paper, Soft Gray, and Dark Mode
• Any custom color you like, by hex code or color picker
• Separate text color control, with an automatic mode that picks readable ink for your background
• A built-in contrast check that warns you when a combination becomes hard to read
WHAT IT DOES NOT DO
By default it paints only the light surfaces. Photographs, videos, logos, buttons and brand colors stay exactly as the site intended. You get a calmer page, not a distorted one.
If you do want everything tinted, images included, there is a single switch for that.
GOOD FOR
• Long reading sessions
• Eye strain, light sensitivity, screen fatigue
• Anyone who finds dark mode too dark and plain white too bright
• Readers who prefer the look of paper to the look of a screen

PERMISSIONS
The extension needs access to the pages you visit for one reason: to apply the color to them. It reads no content and sends nothing anywhere.
