The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Wireflip
Wireflip — Patch the request. Keep your flow.
Wireflip is a local browser request lab for frontend developers and QA engineers. Previously CORS Unlocker, it helps you reproduce API behavior without changing backend code or installing a native client. Existing CORS settings migrate automatically when you update. Users upgrading from 1.x see a one-time local page explaining the new name, icon and features; fresh installations do not show an upgrade notice.
What you can do
• Repair CORS for selected sites, with explicit credential controls
• Inspect requests and see matched rules and applied changes
• Modify request and response headers, redirect requests, or block them
• Mock API responses locally and test loading and failure states
• Organize reusable rules into groups and pin shortcuts to the popup
• Export, preview and import local rule backups
Two execution paths
CORS, headers, redirects and blocking can use browser rules without a debugging banner. For traffic inspection, response mocks, delays, failures and advanced CORS repair, explicitly start a session for the current tab. Chrome displays its standard debugging banner while that tab is attached. Sessions stop when you stop them, close the tab or navigate to another origin.
Temporary controls reset when a session stops. Saved browser rules may remain active until you disable them. HTTP cache bypass applies to the connected tab and does not clear browser data or bypass service workers.
Privacy and control
No account, native install or cloud sync. Rules stay in local extension storage. Captured activity stays in memory and is cleared when the background worker stops. Sensitive headers are masked by default. Wireflip does not upload traffic, rules or logs.
The extension requests access to sites so user-defined rules can target developer endpoints. Debugger access is used only for a session started by the user. Wireflip affects matching browser requests; it does not hide your IP address or route other applications.
English, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Korean, French and Spanish interface languages, with light, dark and system themes.
SDK integration is optional. Existing cors-unlocker integrations retain their hosted bridge; check the migration guide before moving to the new wireflip SDK.
