The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Copy Element
Copy Element turns any element on any web page into a self-contained HTML + CSS
snippet — one that renders the same wherever you paste it, because it doesn't
depend on the page it came from.
Click the toolbar icon (or press Alt+Shift+C), hover to highlight, click to copy.
WHAT YOU GET
A single clipboard block: the element's markup, plus a <style> tag scoped just
to it, with fonts and images inlined as data URIs. Paste it into a blank file,
a CodePen, an email template, or another site's DevTools — it carries its own
styling instead of inheriting the destination's.
WHY IT'S ACCURATE
A naive "grab computed styles" approach produces megabytes of CSS and still
looks wrong once pasted, because the destination page's own styles keep
leaking through. Copy Element does the opposite:
• Resets every emitted class against the destination page so nothing it
already defines (a global margin reset, a body font) can leak in
• Diffs against real browser defaults instead of copying every property
• Keeps layout values the author actually wrote (%, auto, calc()) instead
of freezing pixels — so the copy stays fluid, not brittle
• Walks open shadow roots and resolves <slot>s
• Shares one CSS class across elements with identical styling, so a
500-element section doesn't become a multi-megabyte snippet
• Inlines the fonts and images the element depends on, so the snippet
still looks right with no network connection back to the original page
PICKING CONTROLS
• Hover — highlights the element under the cursor
• Click — copies it
• ↑ / ↓ — widen to the parent / narrow to the first child before copying
• Enter — copy the currently highlighted element
• Esc — cancel
After copying, a small toast shows the size and offers "Copy again" or
"Download .html".
PRIVACY
Copy Element collects nothing, stores nothing, and has no server to send
anything to. Every step — picking, style extraction, clipboard write — runs
locally in your browser.
