About ContextCue: Attach Folders to ChatGPT & Claude

ContextCue makes it easy to attach files from local folders to ChatGPT and Claude without uploading files one by one. Choose a folder from your computer, browse its contents inside ContextCue, select the files you want, and attach them to your current AI conversation in a single step. ### What ContextCue does ContextCue helps you bring organized local context into ChatGPT and Claude. Instead of manually finding and uploading individual files, you can: * Choose or drag in a local folder * Browse its files and subfolders * Search the folder contents by filename * Select individual files or entire folders * See the number and total size of selected files * Automatically fit a selection within your current plan limits * Attach the selected files to your current ChatGPT or Claude conversation ContextCue packages the selected readable files into a structured text attachment so the AI can understand both the file contents and the folder structure. ### Useful for more than code ContextCue works well for many kinds of local projects and documents, including: * Software projects and source code * Research notes * School assignments * Writing projects * Documentation * Business files * Markdown notes * Text-based project folders * Reference material for AI conversations You choose exactly which files are included. ### Local folder scanning Folder scanning and filtering happen locally in your browser. ContextCue does not upload your entire folder to ContextCue servers. When you choose a folder, the extension scans its structure locally and automatically skips certain sensitive, generated, binary, credential-related, or unsupported files. Only the files you explicitly select are prepared for attachment. When you press the attach button, the selected file contents are sent to the AI service you are currently using, such as ChatGPT or Claude. ContextCue does not receive or store the contents of those files as part of the normal attachment workflow. ### Automatic filtering ContextCue automatically skips many files and folders that are unlikely to be useful as AI context or may contain sensitive information. Examples include: * Environment files such as .env * Credential and private-key files * .git folders * node_modules * Build and generated-output directories * Binary files * Images * Video and audio files * Archives * Large unsupported files * Common lock files and generated assets You can review the available files before attaching anything. ### Designed for ChatGPT and Claude ContextCue integrates directly into supported ChatGPT and Claude conversations. The ContextCue button appears alongside the normal conversation controls, allowing you to add folder context without leaving your AI workflow. You do not need an API key, IDE integration, desktop helper, or command-line tool. ### Guest access You can try ContextCue without creating an account. Guest users can make an initial attachment before signing in. After that, creating an account gives you continued access and usage tracking. ### Free and Pro plans ContextCue includes a free plan for regular use and a Pro plan for users who need larger or more frequent attachments. Current plan limits are shown inside the extension and may be updated over time. Pro provides higher attachment limits and additional usage capacity. ### Privacy-first design ContextCue is designed to minimize the amount of file data handled by ContextCue infrastructure. * Folder scanning happens locally * ContextCue servers do not receive your full folder contents * Only files you select are prepared for attachment * Selected file contents are sent to ChatGPT or Claude only when you choose to attach them * ContextCue collects limited account, plan, subscription, and usage information needed to operate the service * Payment processing is handled by Stripe Your use of ChatGPT, Claude, and Stripe is also governed by the respective third-party services’ terms and privacy policies. ### Simple workflow 1. Open ChatGPT or Claude. 2. Click the ContextCue button. 3. Choose or drag in a local folder. 4. Select the files you want. 5. Review your selection. 6. Click “Attach selected files.” 7. Continue your conversation with the added context. ContextCue is built for anyone who regularly works with local files and wants a faster way to bring relevant context into AI conversations.
