Cognoscente

Every article, essay, and newsletter you read is forming you—shaping your thinking, anxieties, interests, and emerging point of view. Most people don't deeply understand what they're consuming, or what it's doing to them. Cognoscente changes that. What Cognoscente does: When you land on a long-form article, essay, Substack post, or web-based newsletter, Cognoscente analyzes the piece before you read it, predicting its tone, its likely emotional effect, and surfacing its key point, lens, category, and topics. After you read, you log how it actually made you feel. Over time, Cognoscente builds a picture of your reading diet: what you're drawn to, how it affects you, and what your patterns say about you as a thinker. Your reading. Your patterns. Your voice. The most valuable thing Cognoscente surfaces isn't what you read, it's the pattern underneath it. What topics keep appearing? What lens do you keep seeking out? What kind of reader are you becoming? That pattern is your emerging expertise. Your distinct point of view. The thing that makes your perspective unlike anyone else's, because no one else has read exactly what you've read, in exactly the order you've read it. Every reader is a cognoscente of something.
