About Coffer

Save the answer, not the whole chat. Coffer saves useful AI responses from ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini into one searchable vault. If you use Obsidian, it syncs there too. No plugins needed. THE PROBLEM You ask an AI a great question and get a great answer. A week later you need it again, and now it's buried 50 messages deep in a chat you can't find. Sound familiar? HOW COFFER FIXES IT Hover over any AI response, click "Stash", done. The answer is saved with all its formatting intact: code blocks, tables, lists, headings. When you need it later, just search. Everything you've ever saved is a few keystrokes away. FEATURES - One-click "Stash" button on every AI response - Works on ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini - Full-text search across everything you've saved - Obsidian sync: pick your vault folder once and Coffer writes Markdown notes with YAML frontmatter straight into it. No community plugins, no helper apps, no API keys to set up. - Export your whole vault as Markdown files (works great with Notion, Logseq, or any Markdown editor) - Tags and folders to keep things organized - Code blocks keep their language labels and formatting - Save full conversations too, not just snippets - Local-first: your data never leaves your computer - Free, no account required PRIVACY Coffer has no server. I couldn't read your conversations if I wanted to, because nothing is ever sent anywhere. Everything lives in Chrome's local storage on your machine. The extension makes zero network requests. No ads, no tracking, no analytics. WHO IT'S FOR - Developers saving code snippets from AI tools - Researchers keeping AI explanations organized - Writers stashing drafts and ideas - Obsidian users building a second brain from AI conversations - Really anyone who uses AI every day and is tired of losing good answers I'm a solo developer and I built Coffer because I needed it myself. Bug reports and feature requests are genuinely welcome. There's a contact email in the privacy policy. WHAT'S NEW v0.5 (July 2026) - Obsidian vault sync. Pick your vault folder once and Coffer writes notes directly into it. Auto-syncs when you open Coffer. - Snippets are now organized by source: Coffer/Snippets/Claude, /ChatGPT, /Gemini - Tag editor. Tags carry over into Obsidian. - Move chats between folders - Export your whole vault as a zip of Markdown files - Saved chats now render Markdown properly (code blocks, headings, tables) - Fixed: Gemini chats saving each question multiple times - Fixed: Claude thinking summaries leaking into saved content v0.2 (May 2026) - First release: Stash button, searchable vault, folders, Markdown export
