About Codex Usage
Track Codex usage, 5-hour and weekly limits, remaining quota, reset times, pace, and banked resets from your Chrome toolbar.
📊 Codex Usage, see your limits, resets, and remaining quota
Codex Usage is a lightweight Chrome extension for people who use OpenAI Codex. Open the toolbar popup to see your current 5-hour and weekly usage, percentage remaining, reset countdowns, observed pace, and latest update.
Your Codex quota stays one click away, so you can check how much usage you have left before starting a long coding session and see exactly when more becomes available.
⚡ What it shows
• 5-hour usage and remaining quota
• Weekly usage and remaining quota
• Reset date, time, and countdown
• Observed usage pace
• Banked resets
• Last successful update
• Toolbar badge for at-a-glance usage
The progress bars make your Codex limits easy to read. Pace helps show whether your current usage is sustainable through the reset window, while the reset countdown tells you exactly when more usage becomes available.
🚀 How to check your Codex usage
1. Install Codex Usage from the Chrome Web Store
2. Open the extension from your Chrome toolbar
3. Sign in through OpenAI's device authorization flow
4. View your live Codex quota
5. Refresh whenever you want the latest usage
🔄 Real quota, not a token estimate
Codex Usage reads the actual quota returned for your account. It does not try to infer your remaining allowance from token counts or coding activity.
That means you can quickly answer:
• How much Codex usage do I have left?
• When does my 5-hour limit reset?
• How much weekly quota remains?
• Am I using my allowance too quickly?
• When will more usage become available?
🔒 Local-first
Authentication is handled through OpenAI's device authorization flow. Your authentication state is retained by the extension so you do not need to sign in every time you open it.
Credentials are not displayed in the extension interface or logged for analytics.
