The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Code Counter
This is a 100% local, secure code line counter for developers. It has NO backend server and makes NO network requests (No fetch/XHR).
### 1. How to Test
1. Click the extension icon to open the popup.
2. Single File: Drag and drop a code file (.js, .py, etc.) into the zone. It instantly shows total, code, comment, and blank lines.
3. Folder Scan: Click "Select Folder" and choose a local code directory. It will recursively count lines and list the top 10 largest files.
4. Filtering: It automatically excludes "node_modules", ".git", and "dist" by default.
### 2. Security & Code Transparency
- 100% Local: All file reading and parsing are done in the local browser memory. User source code never leaves their machine.
- No Obfuscation: All JavaScript code is completely unminified, non-obfuscated, and human-readable for easy line-by-line review.
- Manifest V3: No high-risk permissions requested. No dynamic code execution (No eval).
