About Clipwise — Notion Web Clipper: Save & Clip Articles to Notion
Looking for a Notion web clipper that keeps the whole article and the lines you highlighted? Clipwise is free, needs no account and no login, and nothing ever leaves your computer. Highlight sentences while you read, click once, and the article lands in your Notion database with the source, author and date filled in and your highlights at the top. Featured on Product Hunt.
THE WHOLE ARTICLE, NOT HALF OF IT
Clipwise finds the real article and leaves menus, sidebars, cookie banners and reader comments behind. Links stay clickable, bold and italic stay bold and italic, and code blocks, quotes, lists and images come along — including lazy-loaded images, content inside web components, and old-school sites that other clippers read as empty.
FILL IN YOUR PROPERTIES BEFORE YOU SAVE
URL, source, author and publication date are filled in from the page when it provides them. A "Date added" column gets today's date. Pick a status and tags right in the popup, so the page lands in Notion finished instead of as a row you still have to complete.
HIGHLIGHT WHILE YOU READ
Select a passage and right-click → Highlight with Clipwise, or press Alt+Shift+H. When you clip the page, your highlights are listed at the top of the Notion page and stay yellow inside the article. Already saved that article? Add new highlights to the existing page instead of creating a second one. Got a "Highlights" text column? It's filled in for you.
SAVE JUST THE PART YOU NEED
Select a few paragraphs before you open Clipwise, and you can save only that part.
YOUTUBE, PLAYABLE IN NOTION
Save a YouTube video and it lands in Notion as a video you can play, with the title and channel filled in.
NOTHING GETS LOST
If your internet or Notion is down when you save, the clip waits and Clipwise saves it by itself as soon as it can.
IT REMEMBERS
The database you used last is already selected, and your usual status and tags are already chosen. The second clip takes one click.
IT KNOWS WHEN YOU'VE ALREADY SAVED IT
Open an article that's already in your database and Clipwise tells you, with a link straight to the page you have — even when the address carries tracking junk like ?utm_source.
IT TELLS YOU WHEN SOMETHING'S OFF
If a page yields almost no text, Clipwise says so instead of quietly saving an empty page. If something goes wrong, it tells you in plain language what to do, with a link to the right step of the setup guide.
ONE SHORTCUT
Ctrl+Shift+S clips straight to your last database without opening anything.
A FREE READING LIST TO START WITH
No database yet? The free "Reading List That Fills Itself In" template on the Notion Marketplace has a column for everything Clipwise fills in, including your highlights.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
There is no account, no server and no tracking. Your Notion secret is stored on your computer and sent only to Notion.
SETUP IN TWO MINUTES
After installing, a short guide walks you through connecting Notion. Each step checks itself off when it's done. Stuck on a step? There's an illustrated guide at clipwise-app.github.io/setup.html.
