About Click to Preview for YouTube

Tired of YouTube previews blasting off every time your cursor drifts across the page? Click to Preview for YouTube turns hover-autoplay into an explicit choice. Video previews never start on their own — instead, every thumbnail gets a small play button. • Click ▶ — the preview plays right in the grid, with sound • Click again — it stops • Click ▶ on another video — the previous one stops, the new one plays • One preview at a time, always • Previews keep playing while you scroll or switch windows • Esc stops the current preview The extension uses YouTube's own inline preview player, so playback looks and feels exactly like the native feature — same quality, same smooth start. It just waits for your click instead of your cursor. No data collection, no tracking, no external requests. Everything runs locally on youtube.com pages. Note: some music videos play muted — YouTube itself disables preview audio for licensed music content.
