About Claim Recon
Claim Recon is a free, unofficial Chrome side panel that shows what VA.gov has on file for you, in plain English.
Claim Recon is not made by, affiliated with, endorsed by, or reviewed by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. It is not a VA-accredited representative and does not give legal advice.
WHAT YOU SEE
• Action needed: requests VA is waiting on, due dates and review deadlines, with overdue items first
• Every claim: current step, how long it's been there, VA's estimated decision date, conditions claimed, evidence requests, documents on file and C&P exam info
• A short "What's happening right now" and "What I need to do" for each claim
• Your disability rating, each rated condition, and how VA's combined-rating math works
• Payment history (only the last 4 digits of an account are ever shown)
• Appeals and decision reviews: supplemental claims, higher-level reviews and Board appeals, with next steps
• Intent to file, dependents on your award, and decision letters with download links
• A glossary that explains VA terms in plain English
• Change tracking: see what changed since you last checked, with optional notifications
• Optional AI summary PDF you can give to the AI assistant of your choice to ask questions about your claim
HOW IT WORKS
Open VA.gov and sign in as you normally do. Claim Recon reads your information through that tab, using your own sign-in, the same way VA.gov's own pages do. It only reads. It can't submit, change or delete anything, and it never sees your password.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• Your data stays on your computer, in your browser's local extension storage
• No servers, no analytics, no tracking, no ads
• Social Security numbers, dates of birth, VA file and participant IDs, contact details and full bank account numbers are removed before anything is stored
• One click deletes everything it has saved
Always confirm anything important on VA.gov or in your official VA letters. For help with a claim, contact a VA-accredited representative.
