The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About CiteToBib
CiteToBib helps researchers add citations from Google Scholar directly to bibliography files in Overleaf.
Instead of opening Google Scholar’s citation dialog, copying BibTeX, switching tabs, locating the correct Overleaf project, and pasting the entry manually, CiteToBib connects your Overleaf bibliography files as reusable destinations.
How it works:
1. Open an Overleaf project and select its .bib file.
2. Connect the project using the CiteToBib extension.
3. Search for a paper on Google Scholar.
4. Select Add to Bib and choose an Overleaf destination.
5. CiteToBib adds the BibTeX entry and displays the citation command, such as \cite{Smith2026Example}, for easy copying.
Features:
• Connect multiple Overleaf projects and bibliography files
• Choose a destination for each citation
• Add citations without leaving Google Scholar
• Copy the generated LaTeX citation command
• Review recent citation activity
• Detect duplicate bibliography entries
• Review metadata when several publications have similar titles
• Keep extension settings and citation history in browser storage
CiteToBib is designed for researchers who write in Overleaf and want a faster citation workflow without maintaining a separate reference manager.
CiteToBib is not affiliated with Google Scholar or Overleaf. Users must have access to the relevant Overleaf projects. Website interface changes may occasionally require an extension update.
