About Citebeam: AI visibility & GEO audit
Citebeam tells you whether AI search engines and assistants can reach, read and cite the page you have open.
Click the Citebeam icon, then "Analyze this page". A beam of light sweeps a dial of eighteen checks and lands on a score from 0 to 100. Every check weighs the same: passed counts 1, "Improve" counts half, "Fix" counts nothing.
What it checks, in five areas:
- Access for AI engines: the page answers 200, has no noindex, lets engines quote its text, and robots.txt lets in the bots that AI search uses. Blocking bots that only collect training data is fine, and Citebeam says so.
- Reading the page: the text is already in the server HTML, not only after JavaScript; there is a title, a description, headings in order, alt text on content images, and the key answers are not hidden.
- Structured data: one consistent canonical address; JSON-LD that parses and matches the visible text.
- Update signals: ETag or Last-Modified, a sitemap in robots.txt, a modified date on articles.
- Good practices: an llms.txt file, a single H1, the main and article elements, Open Graph tags, at least 300 words, the author on articles.
Twelve checks quote the official documentation published by the search engines and AI companies themselves. The six good practices quote their own references and carry the label "Good practice": they count in the score, but they can only ask you to improve, never show red. Red is kept for what the official sources say stops a page from being cited.
Two levels of reading. The result says in plain words what to fix first. Open any check for the detail: what Citebeam found, how to fix it, and the corrected code with what to remove struck through, ready to copy. No llms.txt yet? "Generate llms.txt" drafts one from the page.
Each tab has its own panel: analyze a page, switch tabs, come back, and the result is still there.
Private by design. Citebeam asks for access to one site at a time, only when you click Analyze. It reads the page in your browser and downloads only that site's page, robots.txt and llms.txt. No server, no account, no analytics: results stay in the panel until you close it.
Interface in English, Italian, Spanish, German, French and Brazilian Portuguese.
