The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Chronicle Step Recorder
Chronicle Step Recorder turns "it doesn't work" into a report someone can act on.
Press Start, reproduce the problem, press Stop. That is the whole tool.
While it records, it writes down what you clicked, what you typed and where you
navigated, in plain language rather than developer jargon. It captures screenshots as
you go, and quietly notes any page errors, failed requests and live connection status
along the way. No developer tools, no console, no screen-sharing call.
When you stop, the whole thing is text you can paste straight into a ticket or an
email, or a PDF or Word file with the screenshots included.
Built for the people who report problems, not only for the people who fix them:
• Plain-language steps: "Clicked button Save", not a CSS selector
• Screenshots captured automatically as you go
• Page errors, failed requests and live connection status, collected for you
• Optional screen video, with optional voice
• Export as text, Markdown, JSON, Word or PDF
Privacy comes first, because this runs on cemetery records:
• Nothing is ever sent anywhere. No server, no account, no analytics.
• Passwords, email addresses, phone numbers and card numbers are replaced with
placeholders before anything is saved, not at export time.
• The contents of requests, responses and live connection messages are never read.
• It runs on Chronicle sites only, unless you grant another site yourself, one site
at a time, from the extension's own settings.
An internal support tool published by Chronicle Dev Team.
