The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Chrome Bridge for Claude Code
Chrome Bridge lets Claude Code — Anthropic's CLI coding agent — borrow a tab of the Chrome you are already using, signed in, and hand it back. No headless instance, no debugging port, no cloud service: a local WebSocket (localhost:8765) bridges the Claude Code MCP server on your machine to this extension. What only you can do — a login, a 2FA code, a CAPTCHA, a choice — comes back to you as a banner in the page (the handoff tool): you act, the agent continues. It never types your credentials.
Built to be token-efficient: the agent acts on compact element references instead of screenshots, tables are filtered and paginated server-side before they reach the model, and every output is capped — so complex sessions cost far fewer tokens.
60 specialized web-development tools:
• Navigation & tabs — open, close, navigate, list tabs; move, tile and lay out windows
• DOM — query selectors (shadow-DOM piercing), read pages as markdown, list interactive elements, read a form as filled, modify the DOM
• Input — click, type, press keys, fill forms, drag & drop, upload files; hand the browser to the user for 2FA, CAPTCHA or a choice
• Screenshots — viewport (one per device preset), element with zoom, full page, visual regression against a baseline, a design mockup or another URL; captures run in the background without stealing window focus
• Audits — one call for accessibility, keyboard navigation, SEO, security headers, broken links, web vitals, unused CSS, slow plugins and CDN cache; cookie-consent audit; tracking pixels decoded
• Network — monitor requests, mock/block/redirect, record and replay API responses with forced errors, HAR export
• Debugging — console logs, with stack traces mapped back to your source files when you log them, JS execution, dev-server error overlays, background page watch
• Emulation — media, geolocation, viewport, zoom
Cross-platform: Windows, macOS, Linux — any desktop Chrome 135+. Also the only Claude Code browser automation that works on ChromeOS (Crostini).
REQUIREMENTS
This extension is a companion to the open-source chrome-bridge MCP server and requires it to be installed and configured with Claude Code:
https://github.com/frsorrentino/chrome-bridge
The execute_js tool additionally requires enabling the "Allow user scripts" toggle in the extension's details page (chrome://extensions).
PRIVACY
Everything stays on your machine. The extension talks only to localhost — no remote servers, no analytics, no data collection. Privacy policy: https://frsorrentino.github.io/chrome-bridge/privacy
