About Chess Puzzles

Chess Puzzles turns mistakes from your completed games into personal practice. Return to the position, work out a stronger move and learn from the explanation. Use chess puzzles to revisit decisions that mattered in your own play, alongside a built-in collection of other exercises. 📌 Start with your completed games 1. Connect a public username from a supported chess service. No account password is needed. 2. Import the latest 50 eligible games. Standard games that have finished can enter analysis; ongoing play is excluded. 3. Open a lesson when analysis finds a clear mistake. Some games produce no exercises because no suitable position is found. Practice from evidence The extension examines your moves and looks for meaningful opportunities you missed. A single mistake is an observation, rather than a lasting label. Repeated patterns across separate games help identify areas to revisit. Analysis runs on your device and can be paused when you need its resources for something else. Explore different chess problems - Tactical exercises cover patterns such as forks, pins, hanging pieces and mating attacks when the position supports them. - Strategic tasks can revisit rook activity, passed pawns, king activity and other recognised situations. - Opening practice uses actual positions and development, centre control or king safety. Leaving a familiar line alone is not treated as an error. 💡 Build a daily practice habit 1️⃣ Choose a session of 3, 5, 10 or 20 tasks. 2️⃣ Mix recent mistakes with related patterns and reviews that are due. 3️⃣ Return later to see how your recorded attempts develop. A daily chess puzzle can be part of that routine, but there is no shared puzzle of the day promised to every player. Small collections may provide fewer tasks than requested; the session shows the actual number available. Solve the position on the board ➤ Move pieces by clicking or dragging, with legal moves and a choice of promotion piece. ➤ Ask for a hint when you need help finding a starting point. ➤ Follow the opponent's replies within an exercise, then read the explanation and replay the verified continuation. Review what happened • Wrong attempts and hints affect the training result and bring the position back for review. • Scheduled revisits help you check whether a pattern is still difficult after the first solution. • Progress summaries use saved attempts. They do not invent a history before you have practised. 📍 Go beyond a single mistake Chess tactics training combines personal positions with relevant exercises from the catalog. Related practice is selected using available information such as theme and difficulty. If too few suitable positions exist, unrelated tasks are not presented as similar examples. Use the built-in collection ▸ Begin with 1,000 included chess puzzles, alongside opening records. ▸ Encounter chess tactics puzzles and other supported patterns beyond your recent games. ▸ Keep catalog exercises separate from lessons created from your own positions. Choose an appropriate challenge Easy chess puzzles and more demanding positions offer different practice opportunities. Difficulty depends on the exercises available and your training record. The extension does not promise a separate collection for every theme, nor a dedicated filter for mate in a particular number of moves. Keep practice local Imported games, analysis and training history stay on your device. Network access is used to retrieve public game data; it is not a cloud training profile. There is no application backend, telemetry or external analysis service. Connecting a username reads public information and does not prove ownership of the account. Understand the boundaries Chess Puzzles is for learning after a game has ended. It provides no live hints, current-game analysis or automatic moves in a game you are playing. Its local analysis has practical limits, and ambiguous positions are skipped rather than turned into unsupported lessons. Questions about progress Does the training rating change my playing account's rating? No. The internal rating reflects practice attempts and is separate from ratings on other services. Solving chess puzzles is evidence of practice performance, not a guarantee of stronger results in future games. Questions about language and saved data What language does the training interface use? The current dashboard, hints and explanations are in Russian. Can I move my history to another device? There is no cross-device backup. Removing the extension or resetting its local storage erases saved data. Disconnecting a username stops future imports but keeps existing lessons until a reset.
