About ChainMemory — Portable AI Memory

What's new in 3.3.2 Inject one task instead of the whole project, and choose whether sensitive data goes out. Everything is safe to paste by default; with "Include sensitive data" you see the exact lines and the destination site, and approve them once. Optional PIN, stored only in your browser. AI forgets everything when you close the tab. ChainMemory fixes that. ChainMemory is a portable, verifiable memory layer for AI. Save important decisions, context and learnings from any AI chat — and bring them back into any other model, anytime. What you can do: • Save memories with one click from ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Perplexity • Inject the right context into a new conversation — no copy-paste • Keep a consolidated "Project Brain": your decisions, milestones and risks in one structured view • Verify your knowledge cryptographically — each memory and project state has a hash anchored on a public blockchain • Every memory is encrypted in your browser with 12 words only you hold — ChainMemory can't read it • Find your memories by meaning, even encrypted: the search runs on ChainMemory's own engine, on your device • Own your data: it lives in your account, portable across every model, with no vendor lock-in How it works: Connect your ChainMemory account (free), have a normal conversation, and save what matters with the Save bar under each answer. When you start a new chat — with any model — open the floating "Inject memory" button and bring in the context you need. Your memory follows you, not the vendor. THE BLIND VAULT — MEMORIES WE CANNOT READ Every memory you save is encrypted inside your browser before it is sent. The key is derived from twelve words generated on your device; we never see them and never store them. What reaches our servers is an unreadable blob whose hash is anchored on the blockchain — we can prove your memory existed and has not been altered, without ever knowing what it says. Setting it up takes a minute: the extension generates the twelve words, you write them down on paper and confirm three of them. Lose them and nobody — ChainMemory included — can open those memories. That is not a flaw in the design; it is the design. Encrypted, but still searchable: the extension computes each memory's search vector on your device, with ChainMemory's own engine and no third-party code. The search model is downloaded once from models.chainmemory.ai and checked against its fingerprint published on ChainMemory's blockchain. WHAT IS NOT ENCRYPTED So that you can organize and search your memories, some things are stored without encryption: tags, project, category, platform, dates and length, and the search vector — 384 numbers computed from the text. The vector cannot be turned back into the text, but it does reflect what the text is about. Memories saved before the vault was required stay as they were: they cannot be sealed afterwards, because we would have to read them to re-encrypt them. About AIC credits and the built-in wallet: Saving, injecting and verifying memories runs on the ChainMemory network and uses AIC — the network's built-in usage credits. Every account includes a wallet, created automatically and free of charge when you sign up. The extension shows your credit balance and includes a "Top up" shortcut to the ChainMemory faucet page when your balance runs low. AIC is a utility credit for using the service — it is not an investment product, has no monetary value outside the network, and the extension does not handle external cryptocurrencies or payments. WORKING IN A TEAM If your organization uses ChainMemory, your administrator can issue you a member key or a project key. Paste it during setup like any other key and the extension works the same way — except that what you save is attributed to you as a member, fees are charged to the organization instead of to a wallet of your own, and your role determines what you are allowed to do. Project keys are limited to the single project they were issued for. ChainMemory is built for people who work across multiple AIs and need their knowledge to be persistent, portable and provable — and private.
